Quality of Drinks
The usual poor quality array of corporate beer on offer, with perhaps 1 craft option on rotation. A decent back bar with whiskies.
Traditional preserved Irish pub with its wood fittings, upturned barrels, leaning posts, and snug backroom. Expanded outdoor seating too.
Cosy and characterful with a mixture of local life and tourists. Depending on the tourist crowd that can drag it down, but it’s of the more superior city centre options.
Occasional live music, outdoor seating, accommodation, snacks
Value For Money
Relatively poor value for money for drinks
While not in the Temple Bar area of pure tourism, this is a very well-known city centre pub with a mixture of locals and tourists which gets very busy on weekends and evenings. It’s easy to see why, with a beautifully preserved traditional interior, a narrow bar leading to a very snug backroom with framed photographs and history almost sweating off the walls.
