Description:
Located down a side-street by an open-air swimming pool, it doesn’t take long in Kobylisy to swerve the urban intersections and towerblocks and return to a village type feel. As you approach, a large gothic Hostinec sign is painted on the facade, a sign of a historic pub.

Hostinec is not always the golden indicator of a great pub but it often comes through. If you enjoy a traditional pub you’re in luck here.

The interior pub room passes by a small taproom with hatch for service. Inside, genteel rustic surroundings with communal table. Gambrinus have funded heritage artwork on the far wall but otherwise have left it alone, mercifully. There’s a piano and cello in the corner, and the pub also has a veranda – quite unusual for the city.

Service is also more relaxed, engaging and village-like as the tempo of its surroundings befit. A very nice stop-off and pretty darn easy to reach too.
