Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A roster of beers from smaller, independent breweries, albeit mainly light lagers most of the time.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️
A genteel interior that leans towards that slightly faded distressed shabby chic chalet look, maybe a little too twee, but different to the typical Czech hospoda, and will begin to improve in the evenings.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Village life with some passing cyclists, tourists and sports clubs, people coming and going from the garden in better weather, with occasional singalongs and games in the evening.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Food, snacks, musical instruments, outdoor seating
Value For Money❤️❤️❤️❤️
Entirely fair value for money.
DescriptionA short train ride from Mikulov (or Breclav), Mezi Vraty, or “Between the Gates” is worth hopping off at Sedlec station for. Set in the grounds of a large historic building, between the front and back gates, with a spacious garden and playground, this is a rural, genteel destination to be enjoyed particularly in spring and summer.

Inside, the genteel aspects continue, perhaps slightly to its detriment, but at least it is a little more personalised and distinctive than the average Czech Hospoda – you won’t find beer brand tablecloths etc here.

A roster of beers mainly from small breweries, and amenities like chess and musical instruments provide a social, casual and community setting, somewhere to hangout rather than have big lunches or dinners, which is to its credit also.

The superb reviews are testament to its success.
