| Description | What makes a dirty, smokey dive filled with insalubrious characters worthy of our guide? Well, first we must acknowledge this isn’t going to be everybody’s thing. Or even a large minority of people’s thing. But if you are into raw, unvarnished no airs and graces hangouts to drink, chat and have a laugh, a bunker from the outside world, and a refreshing step away from the clean and clinical sterility of the new bars sweeping Prague, this is a terrific example. For a start, the beer here includes Pivovar Olesna, a microbrewer that many craft taprooms would like to boast on their roster, so you’re not sat here drinking stuff like Staropramen or Branik. A wise-cracking old dame works the bar while the owner Florian may be kicking around and is good value to talk to. If you see him, say Hi from us. An evening spent in here felt like making friends – what more can you ask for from a pub? (Added April 2023) |
