Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️
An impressive whisky selection and superior – if still compact – selection of cask ales mark Lismore out as notable in Glasgow.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A restored corner pub on a row of tenement houses, fitted in a Baronial style with fireplace, stone fittings and stained glass with scenes of the highland clearances. A long narrow ground floor bar room with upstairs lounge. The fittings date from the 1996 refurbishment so in the present day retain an uncanny valley of the era they are aping and telltale signs of the era when it was constructed, a similar feeling you get while watching old sci-fi shows.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A popular spot near Kelvinhall station and on a prominent site by the square, meaning plenty of footfall. The interior atmosphere is close, relatively intimate but with a bustling rather than sleepy feel on weekends and evenings.

Standard fare for the city.
DescriptionA visit to the Lismore at first provides a hard-to-place sensation. Its 1996 refit is impressive and remains in great condition, built in a singular vision of baronial fireplaces and wooden shelves with stone walls and stained glass. It doesn’t look like a traditional pub that would have existed, but nevertheless is rather curious. Situated by a square on a busy high street, trade is brisk on evenings and weekends, and space can be at a premium along a narrow ground floor bar room. A superior selection of whiskies and real ales sharpens the point of visiting further still. Cosy, curious and markedly Glaswegian, it should be on your list to visit. (Added January 2025)
