Large modern premises with a boxy shape. Open plan, composed of black metal stanchions, wood, leather, hoisted barrels and art deco light fittings, with the brewing equipment visible behind the bar. It’s been done before, but is notably achieved with finesse here.

An open kitchen and large giftshop take up plenty of room too. It is a venue capable of seating a large number.

Drinking/social area near the bar with chunky dining tables (still fairly casual) further back.

Ultimately like all these out of town light industrial places it lacks a certain something when there’s no event going on, but there is a pleasant calm and warmth while the service is nice too.

A modern edge-of-town brewing operation and complex with some serious financing behind it, you’ll find a stylish, well-executed and precision engineered venue.

When you’re visiting Liechtenstein, it’s likely for a good time not a long time – you can visit 4 countries in an afternoon around the Vorarlsberg region, and this is by far and a way the most distinctive venue, allowing you to do some arbitrary box ticking too (Liechtenstein brewed beer, a drink in Liechtenstein itself, stepping onto Liechtensteiner soil, etc etc).

Although set up for eating there are social tables by the bar which shows a welcome nod to the fact that such places do not always have to be about suiting and booting for dinner.

The shop, kitchen and tap area give it a relaxed feel, and with the mountains in the background, it feels like you are in the hinterland of the Alps, and in a gateway of Mitteleuropa.

There’s not much history to speak of, and the venue won’t dazzle those who have been to hundreds of brewpubs before, but it’s simply a well-executed and superior option.
