| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Considering this is an all-comers tavern and one of the main drinking spots in Colmar, the choice is actually superior with specialist beers such as Paix-Dieu alongside the Alsace regulars on tap and a competent back bar for alternatives. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Situated in a historic timberframe building with a terrace outside, the corner location stand out. Inside you’ll find a traditional tavern with wood beams and social seating, which has been colourfully decorated. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A clear sense this is one of the mainstays in the city, with a broad clientele. Lively and pacey even during the day. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ TV, snacks, outdoor seating, occasional events |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Fair value overall but nothing outstanding. |
| Description | A charming name and a historic building is a good start. This is a French tavern with a social drinking focus and a broad clientele up and down the classes. Unpretentious which will put off people looking for a refined experience, but the product is there, with some superior beer options on a surprisingly long tap list and the interior retains a sense of intimacy as befits the timber frame style, chunky wood and warm cosy surroundings. The pace and social energy along with the music and TV keeps things buzzing along even during the afternoons. It may put some people off, but it’s an effective operation. (Added January 2024) |
