Quality of Drinks

Bakalar and Cernovar beers on tap including honey beer. A fairly strong rum selection is also notable.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Vaulted cellar with candlelit interior. Fairly ‘theme restaurant’ at the bar, but the main cellar is atmospheric with the number of candles and backlit alchemy equipment and murals. Basic chunky furniture.

The historic premises, candlelight and décor add a present atmosphere even when quiet, which is a good sign.

Value For Money❤️❤️❤️
Not the cheapest, but nothing too obnoxious either.
DescriptionLocated in the premises of Třeboň castle, a candlelit basement pub restaurant which is surprisingly compact and pubby feeling, seating a maximum of 60.

A Medieval themed bar area with heraldry on the ceiling continues into vaulted cellars. Their alchemy inspired interior is eye-catching, as is the array of candlelight which replaces most if not all electric lighting here. In the evening you’ll find locals here, it isn’t simply a tourist theme restaurant, which was a nice surprise.

The selection of drinks is if not specialist, at least relatively unusual, Bakalar and Cernovar represented, including a honey beer.

Třeboň is a sleepy place and finding even a semblance of nightlife some evenings can be difficult. If U Certa is closed, this is your next best bet in the centre.
