Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Excellent range of central European lagers brewed on site with at least 6 taps at any one time. Perfunctory alternatives
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️
The skeleton of the building has natural character, set in a monastery complex. Enter to find a small taproom with curved ceiling and brewkit on show. Perhaps overly brightly lit, plain and stark as a result.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A young crowd assemble at what is really a village pub, giving it an immediate sense of vibrancy and relevance, a big plus over the often middle aged dynamic of such places, however the place does close early.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️
Food, snacks, limited outdoor seating in summer.
Value For Money❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fair value for money given the selection being offered and the quality.
DescriptionOne of the superior brewpubs in a country where they are somewhat of a religion, its monastery setting adding character before you have even walked through the door. Upon arrival you’ll find a taproom with classic curved ceiling on the historic premises, but it has been whitewashed and bright-lit. While that could render the place overly stark, that is balanced by a young, vibrant crowd and tasteful design choices. That, along with the excellent beer selection and fair value merits it worthy of inclusion. While it may look remote on a map, the town of Tisnov is only 35 minutes by train from Brno, with the monastery a 20 minute walk from there. Well worth exploring. (Added November 2023)
