Reasonably low-key for a central bar, less corporate feeling than those next to the mall. The dub/reggae soundtrack becomes the echoey medium through which beer is enjoyed. Seating encourages cross chat. Needs to grow into its surroundings and gain a fanbase.

Snacks, outdoor seating in summer, occasional events.

Despite the quality of offerings, prices are not that much higher in comparison to mid-range corporate beers in the average bar around the city, making it a reasonable option for most.

As of 2024, a recent opening adding a missing piece to Iasi’s bar landscape. A central craft beer bar with colourful murals, an L-shaped bar of right angles and flat surfaces, but with seating that encourages cross-chat.

Kaze provides at least 10 taps of beers from independent Romanian breweries including one brewed in the city. The styles focus on IPA but there are other alternatives as well as a fridge of cans and bottles.

The bar maintains a dub/reggae soundtrack, relatively unusual for both the city and this bar format, adding a distinctive identity that perhaps wouldn’t quite be there just from the decor alone.

Despite the quality of offerings, prices are not that much higher than only mid-range corporate beers in the average bar around the city, making it a reasonable option for most.

Perhaps the venue needs time to grow into its own space, become more personalised and so on, but the seeds are there to allow this. It should certainly be a bookmarked venue on your visit. (Added November 2024)
