Cocktail bar with bespoke menu and Champagnes from the Aube. Tap beers from Affligem.

Style/Décor:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Housing in a listed 1932 mansion house built in Neo-Gothic style. Garish pink-lighting on a front garden terrace with different seating areas. Inside, high ceilings, neo gothic fireplaces and exposed beams, modern lounge furniture. A side room with more of the same and private function space upstairs.

Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️
Dragged down by a few garish touches that seem a bit insecure and social climbing obsessed, but that aside, service is efficient, polite and friendly and the main room is a good place to sit and enjoy a drink. The terrace will no doubt be pleasant in summer too.

Amenities/Events:

Food, snacks, outdoor seating, private function

Value For Money:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Reasonably good value for money all in all.

Description:
Based in the mansion house of the Juvenal family this titular cocktail bar makes use of the grand Neo-Gothic surroundings, from its front garden terrace, to the impressive high-ceilings interior with exposed beams and fireplaces.

A modern fit to the interior décor and some garish lighting out front is a typical flamboyant French mish-mash, although there are some standouts such as the large marble effect bar back.

Inside, lounge furniture is comfortable (though it does feel more like the place for leather armchairs and Chesterfields) and service is on point.

Cocktails are served from a bespoke menu but the range of Aube champagnes also sticks out. Affligem beers are the typical macro-effort but slightly above par offering you’d expect at a bar of this kind.

Troyes is hardly studded with bars, it’s hard work to find them even on a Friday or Saturday night, meaning this place rises up the list of places to visit.

All-in-all, if you can stomach a few rather showy touches, the drinks are good, the environment is at the very least, fascinating and reasonably priced given the overall operation. We recommend.
