| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ While not the focus of the venue, the bar is nevertheless well stocked with a few good beers on tap, healthy back bar of Jazz-appropriate spirits. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Instantly appealing basement venue, stairs leading to a warren of rooms. A concert room dominates with bar room and backrooms further along, all decorated with black and white Jazz and Blues stars who have played the venue. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Whether a concert is on or not, there is a buzz and natural ambience to the place that makes it feel relevant and the place to be. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Live music, meals, snacks |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ A fairly cheap entry fee for concerts with standard city centre prices for Vienna – that is to say not cheap but not extortionate. |
| Description | The brick vaults and black & white photos may lead you to suspect Jazzland has been around since the golden age. That’s not the case but it certainly has been around long enough to become a beloved central institution. Concerts are put on for a small entrance fee and seats in the main room have a very casual/ad hoc theatre layout, with bar and backroom to the sides for casual hangouts and taking in the atmosphere and sounds with the odd glimpse of performance to be spied through the archways. Drinks are appropriate for this style of venue and fairly priced, a slight surprise to find they also serve meals. An unmissable venue in Vienna to pick up on the city’s culture cues, yes, but overridingly to have a good time. (Added April 2023) |
