With Plovdiv already boasting one popular Jazz bar, it is relatively unusual to find two such venues close by in good health in a provincial city of this size This one is almost the flipside of the coin. While Kontrabas is up on a hill in the old town, sophisticated and middle aged, this is a basement bar in a city centre block with a younger crowd that perform and enjoy jazz with a bit more of a flourish, feeling alternative in comparison. Very friendly crowd and service.
