Value For Money❤️❤️❤️
A small cover charge for the music, and otherwise entirely fair given the location.
DescriptionNamed after musician Janusz Muniak who spent much of his life at the venue teaching and performing, this basement jazz club is set in the brick vaults of a 14th century cellar. Although the live performances which begin at 21:30 daily are no longer cutting edge on the scene, you’ll find a mix of up and coming bands and highly competent circuit musicians. This is paid for with a small and entirely absorbable cover charge, after which drinks, including a good cocktail range can be acquired at a reasonable rate. A huddled, excitable atmosphere in an intimate space, a reverential hush descends when the jazz starts. Service is apparently notoriously brusque, although we didn’t personally find that (quite the opposite). If you enjoy this sort of thing you can’t look past it. (Added June 2023)
