| Choice/Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️ Poor beer selection, this Borozo focuses on wines, with some typical central European spirits such as Palinka available |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A relic. Wood-strip basement interior unchanged since the 1980s. A bar room with chunky communal tables and side room offering more than the same. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A pub-diner with canteen, you’ll find old-timers here for an early drink, locals popping in to say hi, and a sense of authenticity that is unmistakeable, a throwback operating with a kind of snub-nosed defiance. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️ Food, snacks |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Very good value for money for the product. |
| Description | A Borozo is the wine equivalent to the Sorozo, but don’t be thinking of any kind of fancy establishment. In Hungary these are battered, family-run old establishments, and Istvan Pince (cellar) is no different. With an unchanged, throwback appearance, a kitchen pumping out simple good value Hungarian cooking and an array of the most brutally utilitarian drinks, this is a defiantly unchanged boozer where you’ll find authentic local life and a marked contrast to the modern venues on the main street. Come armed with basic Hungarian phrases, enjoy your plate of goulash, glass of booze and do as the locals do.(Added June 2023) |
