A simple one room drop in corner bar where what you see is what you get. Walk in off the street descend a few steps and grab a stool. The furnishings are rather generic and let the place down, though the bar fitting itself is quite nice.

Although the furnishings are a bit drab and uninspired, the space itself is fundamentally effective. The compact space means it doesn’t take long to generate atmosphere, while it feels like a bit of a refuge even when quiet. Potential to do more with it.

By comparison with other brewery taprooms around the city, prices are reasonable.

Description:
Although their website is a little opaque, Hat brewery were certified in 2020, and opened this little taproom in central Riga to sell their wares.

It’s a simple drop-in venue where you descend a few steps from the street into a small space.

It’s a shame the space is decorated with such a lack of imagination, but as with so many breweries creation seems to cease once the beer flies off the production line.

However, it is saved and elevated to a guide inclusion by a good selection of beers and a naturally quite effective space to enjoy them in. The real point is there is potential here to do far better with what they’ve got, with just a few touches to furnishings and surroundings.
