| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️ A simple frozen-in-time cafe bar selection from the 1970s, Almdudler soft drinks, Trumer pils on tap, quaint enough to feel sympathetic towards. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ A one-off, the italicised signage and net curtains are iconic, looking like a long-closed operation. Inside you’ll find a highly personalised homely cafe/pub with seating opposite the bar and a backroom. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Superbly characterful friendly family operation with cooking happening at the bar itself, a kindly elderly lady serving and a surrounding of local life and the odd tourist enjoying a truly unpretentious and authentic operation. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️ Half Chinese/Half Viennese food menu, snacks, drinks, newspapers |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Fair value given portions and central location. |
| Description | Iconic 70s Pub/Café/Beisl, a survivor of generations sticking to what it has always done. Personalised interior decorated with retro signage and cuttings from the decades past. A see-and-be-seen place historically, now simply a barnacle that high society has not managed to expunge from the centre. Kindly service and cooking on the bar top create a special feeling of homespun hospitality, a half Chinese half Viennese menu pumping out sizeable portions for its guests. Unmissable, particularly if you’re hungry, but a social and authentic place to go just for a drink too. (Added April 2023) |
