Fonderie is set up an alleyway which seems to have formerly houses workshops and garages. These days you’ll find smart chic restaurants and bars, and at the end partly shrouded in plants is Fonderie.

It’s a unique building which has been stylishly and sympathetically furnished in accordance with its surroundings. A high ceiling with an impressive bar area, and siderooms decorated like semi-abandoned apartment space. To the rear a garden with gravel, large plants and mature trees which is wonderful in spring and summer.

One of the visual standouts in Milan, Fonderie is set up an alleyway which seems to have formerly houses workshops and garages. These days you’ll find smart chic restaurants and bars, and at the end partly shrouded in plants is Fonderie.

It’s a unique building which has been stylishly and sympathetically furnished in accordance with its surroundings. A high ceiling with an impressive bar area, and siderooms decorated like semi-abandoned apartment space. To the rear a garden with gravel, large plants and mature trees which is wonderful in spring and summer.

The format is more foodie but given the nature of the venue and Milan’s aperitivo, it easily qualifies as a bar. After the set lunch hours, if you return in the evening it is a bar, indeed they open until the early hours of the morning.

A popular place that does the rounds on Instagram, it can be oversubscribed in summer hence some mixed reviews, but if you go at the right times you can have a great time here.
