Style/ Décor	❤️❤️❤️❤️ Strange to say about a sports bar, but the décor really is a standout with its engraved wooden panels, ceiling embellishments, chandeliers, persian rugs, and roman columns. These are inherited from the 19th century private members club whose basement they inhabit. A bar to the left of the entrance with main pub room and rear games room straight ahead.

Description	Operating in the basement of the oldest private members club in Porto (1869), a sports club is not the sort of place most culture vultures would think of seeking out, yet it quickly, calmly sets out a compelling argument. The club aspect is maintained with a bell at the door. You will be greeted then ushered in. The bar is to your left, well stocked with a good range of beer, including Belgian bottles and a competent back bar. Move through to a large seating area with eye catching engraved wainscotting, wooden panels on the ceiling and chandeliers, the walls festooned with sporting memorabilia. There is a typically high Victorian romance too with its Roman columns, all a bit more than you’d expect. The sporting aspect is maintained with scheduled events displayed on a projector and a series of pool tables to the rear of the room. They host gatherings from various community groups and have an attendant DJ on some nights too. In the end they achieve something for everyone without making the offering too jarring or too diluted, which is to its credit. (Added September 2023)
