Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beer range dominated by Bernard beers, no bad thing. With a couple of Slovak craft alternatives from Wywar. The back bar is competent and geared towards its audience.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Built into a slope, you enter in a typical half step basement which feels half underground half not. Curved ceilings and a tight space of dark wood tables arranged around a central bar.

Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The centre of the social calendar for many in Bratislava, this place remains surprisingly local even given its central location. An in demand spot that is hugely characterful in the evening and feels like the place to be.

Value For Money❤️❤️❤️
Fair for the area, with some drinks reasonably priced in comparison to local competitiors.
DescriptionRightly seen as one of the jewels in Bratislava old town, Čierny Pes/Black Dog is in demand during the evenings and feels like the place to be when you’ve been seated.

Atmosphere is enhanced hugely by its slanted location with a step into a basement setting with dark wood tables and curved ceilings.

The crowd are a 20s-40s post-grad set on a Friday night and the place manages to keep the tourist hordes at arms length out of season, all for the better.

You’ll find a range of Bernard’s excellent beers with Slovak craft offerings from Wywar and a well-stocked café bar menu for alternatives.

If you find you can’t get a seat, order at the bar and be patient! (Added February 2023)
