Nothing out of the ordinary for the area.
DescriptionIt feels like Café Szafe is always open. You walk past in the morning to find a colourful cafe serving coffee to its local audience and it’s all too often the last port of call, especially if you’re not based in Kazimierz, exiting for bed in the early hours of the morning. A long standing venue set off from the core bar areas, without a lot of nearby competition, the end result is it draws in a neighbourly, more local audience. Less chance of encountering middle aged Yanks or British backpackers. Later on the atmosphere descends into drunken revelry. Midsummer parties, table dancing and the bar staff, the nominal adults in the room leading the charge. At its best when busy but perfectly pleasant for a sedate afternoon, this is a very useful option to keep in your pocket, particularly if you’re located anywhere near Stradom, Blonia or West of the old town.
