| Description | First impressions were “oh cool, these places still exist around here”. A late bar, dog friendly, for drop outs and kids to hang out in an unpretentious environment of knackered furniture and general decay. This isn’t a place for people who want to take photos on Instagram of their night out. A mezzanine area, one pushing the boundaries of legal, requires customers to stoop low underneath a large wooden beam. Nová Doba can be cliquey at the bar if some regulars are in (and you’re best advised to stand your ground in that case) although service can be willing. Drinks are basic but cover bases. So low-key it is genuinely difficult to capture its atmosphere on camera. Don’t forget about the garden in summer, a popular oasis in the middle of a built up area. (Added March 2025) |
