Choice/Quality of Drinks:
❤️❤️❤️
A well stocked back bar serves for cocktails and mixers, and the usual Carlsberg / Tuborg taps and bottles do the rest.

Style/Décor:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bulb lighting out front suggests a camp showbar, as does the velvet curtain on entrance, but the interior remains a typical brown café – which is to say red walls, lamp lighting, candles, simple furniture. An L-shaped room with bar in the corner and grand piano by the entrance. Round tables with simple seating. Stained glass windows at the front, roses and baubles pinned to the beams.

Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Supremely atmospheric, casual, with louche waiting staff, smokey surroundings and a sense of unpredictability and spontaneity affixed to a pub with otherwise very solid, familiar charms.

Amenities/Events:
❤️❤️❤️
Live events, music, snacks, piano, smoking permitted.

Value For Money:
❤️❤️
Not one of the cheapest venues in Copenhagen, but we are assured that the community who own and underwrite the operation look only to cover costs rather than profiteer.

Description:
A ‘roaring twenties’ jazz bar, now a centenarian known locally as “The Establishment”, age has only added a further rheumy patina of sleaze, memories and character that make nights out at Intime today every bit as colourful.

A renowned gay bar, these days the crowd is mixed, usually but not exclusively young, and liberal. Waiters are notoriously gratuitous in their welcome and banter, and a bit of wise-cracking works both ways, you’ll be glad to know.

Aside of table service (though you can go to the bar), the place is the height of informality.

Sunday jazz performances take place on a grand piano which takes an almost comical amount of floor space considering the available room. Inhaling from the cloud of cigarette smoke hanging across the room is unavoidable, but this bar is about tonight, not the day after.

This is hardly the only performance here – nights can seem to spontaneously give way to singalongs or events that appear to have no fanfare or trailer. Professional singers appear to emerge from within crowds of friends, and amateurs are often welcome to accompany them. It is this sense of dynamism that sets apart an already hugely atmospheric place to another level.

And drinks – well, they exist but can anyone really recall what they were drinking here? A well stocked back bar serves for cocktails and mixers, and the usual Carlsberg / Tuborg taps and bottles do the rest.

Don’t look at InTime on a map and think it looks to far from central Copenhagen. It’s a doddle to reach.

If you think you are perhaps a little reserved, inhibited, there may be other places to consider, but if you want to make new friends, or have a laugh with existing ones, this is one of the destinations in Copenhagen, Denmark, Europe.
