Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️
Typical Spanish tapas bar fare – good wines, whiskies and café bar fare, but a lack of decent beers.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nautical theme in this spruced up, but tastefully complimentary reboot of a Bodega-turned-bar. A single room with tiles and barrels, leading to further room at the rear.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A busy and energetic trade during the day, with nice surroundings, an appealing place to be.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️
Food, snacks, outdoor seating.
Value For Money❤️❤️
Not the cheapest such bar around the city, to be honest, but at least the tortilla portions are suitably enormous to make up for it.
DescriptionLa Peseta has rubbed up locals the wrong way in recent years with some tourist concessions and climbing prices, but as a venue to visit it remains appealing.

A reboot of a traditional Bodega with some nautical nik-naks and murals complimenting the more familiar tiles and barrels.

Tortilla specialists, the portions are large, expensive and absolutely delicious, to be enjoyed with a vermouth or other fortified concoction.

Cabanyal’s nightlife is perhaps overstated – more activity than there is quality, for sure, but this is a good option and a bolthole to keep in mind. (Added July 2024)
