| Description | A notorious venue with an ever-growing list of enemies, run by an erratic, opinionated loose cannon, with expensive drinks – cash only and a rather dubious gouging operation. So why recommend it? Well, most of the time you will not encounter the owner, its prices are absorbable if annoying, leaving the actual venue itself which is really good. A distinctive, leafy beer garden that is superb to hang out in day or night, and atmospheric basement pub that has a good identity too. We’re not going to lie, it’s a risk recommending this, but you might really get something out of it. (Added June 2023) |
