Think of Europe’s famous nightlife districts. The Reeperbahn. Soho. Kazimierz. District VII. Navigli. They trip off the tongue. Wojciecha Bogusławskiego in the city of Wrocław, Poland? Not so much! On the lead-in eastwards into the main station, Wrocław Główny, locomotives travel along a lengthy viaduct that runs parallel to Wojciecha Bogusławskiego street. It is under those arches that you’ll find 30+ bars and restaurants stretching on and on west of the station. in the 1990s after the end of the PRL-era, alongside the usual vice-adjacent businesses, bars began to spring up. Most of those originals are today gone, but there are traces of the era: sex shops remain and old stagers like Pociąg from 2004, the tail end of that era.

Biały Wilk, “White Wolf” is a more contemporary iteration. It isn’t modern in style, but the layout and offerings are more influenced by today’s trends.

In particular, the bar offers a space for D&D fans and alternatives to meet up and socialise, while they’ve somehow achieved an upper floor – with a very low ceiling! Furniture is loungier too, and there’s a sense of casual hangout.

As with many of the viaduct bars there’s Czech lager and Polish craft to choose from at the going rate (quite cheap for basic stuff though), along with typical late bar offerings prepared at a compact corner bar at the far end of the room.

Well worth a stop-off as you explore the bars down this strip.
