Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A house beer, and very decent list of bottles covering some Belgian classics and Romanian pseudo-craft beer (craft styles brewed by Macros). Nothing to bowl over aficionados but given where we are in the world, all in all a much more impressive list than expect. Well stocked back bar for alternatives.

Décor

Split between a dining area and a pub area, the casual pub is to the left of the entrance and the interior is a suitably pub-like fit of chunky tables, wood panelling, casual, slightly quirky decor. The overall effect is not unlike an English pub, Czech hospoda or German Gaststatte.

Ok, unremarkable prices.
Description“The Old Brewery” – it seems unlikely this building was ever the site of a brewery, and their house beer is a contract brewed lager, but the selection here will cause a few eyebrows to flicker up. A good selection of Belgian classics, Romanian pseudo-craft (craft brewed by macros not independents) provides a selection that is comfortably superior for the city. That is not the only surprise however.

Listed as a restaurant, expectations were simply that it would be a traditional tavern, but on arrival it was clear the operation was split between formal and casual, with a fully fledged pub to the left of the building. Decorated in a familiar style like an upright English pub, Czech hospoda or German Gaststatte, with some adornments making it feel more casual and relaxed.

The atmosphere is of families and couples coming for lunch and to relax, making it food focused but absolutely casual enough to qualify as a hangout spot too.

Unexpected, but we find ourselves justifying it as an inclusion on our guide.
