Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️
Typical tapas bar fare – wines, sherries, homemade vermouth with the one lager tap and familiar industrial lager bottles. Ask them to dig around though, they may have 1 or 2 non-standard options.

Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
An artful place with the emphasis on music and religious iconography. A small terrace out front leading to a small room with eclectic furniture and bench niches, chequered floor and a busy, cluttered bar.

DescriptionOwners Javier and Laia Llorca started this bar with Javier’s grandmother as their inspiration: LAPACA (painted on the wall, as seen above). She lived close by and when she passed Javier sold his abuela’s house and opened this place. There is even her furniture in the bar.

An artful place with the emphasis on music and religious iconography (this is Spain, after all), and a casual informality that is instantly appealing.

Only a short walk from the beach, the El Cabanyal neighbourhood has a similar feel to somewhere like Barceloneta, where the streets feel a little sandy and the buildings sun-bleached, the atmosphere laid back and casual, both afternoon and evening.

Service is friendly and welcoming, while their tortillas are tempting, portions are very good and taste delicious. In a neighbourhood where the nightlife is perhaps a little overstated (not so much in activity, but certainly the quality of venues), this was the clear standout. (Added July 2024)
