| Description | In two minds about BackRoom. The voyage to locate it for the first time adds to the intrigue, and inside its clandestine atmosphere is effective. The cocktails are excellent and some nice touches like nibbles and the recipe to take away are thoughtful too. However, the cast of hipster bro staff preening by the bar, and overly officious front of house leaves it feeling a little spoiled, not achieving its potential. Certainly there is plenty to recommend if you can deal with those elements. (Added April 2023) |
