Quality of Drinks
⭐⭐
If Nicholson’s weren’t so awful then it should have 5 or 6 cask options, but at times you’ll be lucky to find 2 or 3 at most. A stock range of alternatives to beer.
Style/
Décor
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Here is where Bacchus shines. Cheesy? Definitely. Bad taste? Undoubtedly, but there’s a calm confidence with about how its but together. Think roman arches, Bacchanalian portraits and heraldry mixed with gothic cellars.
Atmosphere/
Character
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pretty decent. There’s always the prospect of a rabble joining due to it being a city centre chain, but the cellar atmosphere stands out.

Meals, snacks
Value For Money
⭐⭐
Very poor, even for the area
Description
Despite chain ownership, erratic drinks selection and very poor value, we add this because it’s so assertively, ridiculously fun. The Bacchus decor mixed with faux-Medieval works surprisingly well, almost transfixing in its luridness. There’s nothing quite like this, certainly not in Birmingham anyway.
