Choice/ Quality of Drinks	❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Specialising in the kind of unfashionable, but still superb beers that have dropped off the map in recent years in favour of haze and stouts. Think Belgian tripels, Weizenbock and other continental European styles from great breweries. The selection is excellent (if not perhaps absolutely top tier) and enough to keep most thoroughly well occupied.
Style/ Décor	❤️❤️❤️❤️ The bar itself combines the faux-Trappiste abbey décor with the ancient interior well. As you enter the knobbly uneven ceiling of what were presumably former cellars are apparent above the bar. This expands to several rooms around to the back, it is bigger than it initially looks.
Atmosphere/ Character	❤️❤️❤️❤️ On Place Sant Louis, this is a busy, lively bar in the evening with a tempo partly inherited from its surroundings, but drummed up to in its warm rickety interior.

Description	Place Sant Louis has a claim to being one of France’s great nightlife spots. A row of ancient townhouses with porticos and walkways along play host to a series of bars, with seating spilling out of the bars under the arches. An atmospheric experience that needs to be witnessed if you want to understand Metz. Aux Paraiges is the best of these bars, specialising in the kind of unfashionable, but still superb beers that have dropped off the map in recent years in favour of haze and stouts. Think Belgian tripels, Weizenbock and other continental European styles from great breweries. The selection is excellent and enough to keep most occupied. This expands to several rooms around to the back, it is bigger than it initially looks. With a casual atmosphere, it is easy to imagine most dropping by here at different points of the evening.
