Highly inventive, avant-garde and sometimes moving over to downright bizarre bordering on mind-boggling cocktail creations. They are nonetheless highly distinctive and provide an experience you won’t forget in a hurry.

Décor

Enter a pizza restaurant and walk past the bar and the oven to the back of the room. A shelf distracts you from what appears to be the door. Pull the shelf and crouch underneath to enter the bar. An odd bespoke space with a high ceiling has been decked out in a half-boudoir, half fanciful Alice in Wonderland style, with sofas around a spacious bar area. There’s a glass partition to a smoking area with further seating.

A sense of fun and whimsy to finding the place adds to the experience, while the atmosphere can rise and fall, it still feels like you are in somewhere secret and secluded.

Value For Money❤️❤️
Cocktails perched at the high end, which they try to justify with the distinctive menu and sense of ceremony to the presentation. Overall worth it for a one-off experience.
DescriptionA secret bar accessible through a pizza takeaway, although locals don’t bat an eyelid suggesting they’ve seen it all before as you walk towards the back room to a suspicious looking door. Pull the shelve and crouch under the partition to enter the hidden space. A retrofit interior which would clearly never have been intended for a bar of this sort proves an odd base for this place. They’ve done a reasonable job with the decor, somewhere between boudoir and fantasy, with a moose head that’s so large you’d be fair to wonder if they’d dropped anything stronger in your drink. The cocktails follow this theme with some very distinctive creations taking in custard, trout eggs, roast chicken and far more besides in an attempt to dazzle you with bravura and ambition. Whether it quite hits the mark or not will depend on your tastes, but at least they’re aiming high. Overall the novelty factor is high and on a one-off visit to Strasbourg this comes easily recommended. (Added January 2024)
